We were blessed with another night of excellent weather for round 5 of the Spring iDrive Series Wednesday, May 30!
We had another good turnout with full fields for both the Light and Heavy classes.

There was no shortage of excitement in the Light class with multiple position changes throughout both races.

2017 iDrive regular Brian Walker made his comeback this week with a win in the Light class race 1 of the night. Rounding out the podium was Micah Floretta in second and Jason Jones third.

Light class race 2 of the night was just as exciting, with a lot of bumper to bumper racing throughout all 12 laps. In the end Jason Jones was able to earn his first iDrive win followed by Scott McClendon Jr in second and Micah Floretta in third!

Coming fresh off a second place finish in the Heavy Class for the Gateway 500 Monday, May 28, Kartplex Photographer Mark Schwigen was able to get the win in not only one but BOTH Heavy Class races of the night! Starting out the race with a huge lead and only gaining more ground with every lap, they real race on the track was for second and third place.

Rounding out the top three in race 1 were Chuck Mathis second and Dennis Wilburn third – in race 2 Jeff Kraatz second and Geoff Mathis third.

Thanks for everyone who came out for Round 5 of the Spring iDrive series. Don’t forget there are only TWO more iDrive races for this season, the next race will be Wednesday, June 13 and the final race of the season will be Wednesday, June 27.
