RYAN BETTENHAUSEN – IGNITE SENIOR

Ignite Series Race 2 featured dramatically different weather conditions than Race 1. Driver’s had to battle through hot track conditions in order to get their karts to stick in the corners. The Ignite Series also featured around 40 entries across 5 classes.

In Kid Kart Honda, Austin Todtenhaupt was able to come into his first event and steal the show. After setting fast laps and wins across every race, Austin has proven to be the one to beat this season. Newcomer, Lane Mayer also showed much improvement throughout the day, improving lap times in every session. He’ll be fighting for wins by the end of the season.
Ignite Rookie’s Dane Sensel took the win in race 3 after a tough battle with Reid Sweeny after both drivers split wins across both heats. The battle for third was on between Cameron Myers and Jaiden Beckmann, both coming back from separate impacts.

Evan Stamer was able to continue his win streak in Ignite Junior, showing that his lap consistency pays off. He split heat race wins with Cole Sensel but started up front in the feature and never looked back. Each driver’s fast lap was a margin of only 0.3 seconds, proving Ignite Junior to be one of the most competitive classes.
Ryan Bettenhausen extended his win streak but it was not as easy this time. His kart suffered right side damage from the first heat, bending his sidepod up and dragging from below, this did not slow him down as he was able to capture wins in the second heat and feature. iDrive standout, Andre Stunson, captured a win in the first heat and set the fastest lap of the day at 35.1 seconds, a huge improvement after the first race. Andre will be the one to watch out for the rest of the year.

After not competing in race 1, Jim Rucker stole the show in Ignite Masters by passing Jon Vernier on lap 6 of the feature. Mike Lebrun was able to secure another 2nd place finish but Jon Vernier still hangs on to the points lead heading into race 3.
