21 Sep Gateway Kartplex iDrive Series – Round 5
Round 5 of 7 in our iDrive Fall Session took place Wednesday September 20.
We had an excellent turn out, once again having to spit the iDrive Light Class into two groups because of the large number of racers.
It was a night of excitement and new drivers for iDrive!
Evan Stamer was a newcomer to the series in our Light Class. While he is new to iDrive, Evan is no stranger to the Kartplex, with multiple championship and Gateway 500 wins. After just turning 16, the minimum age requirement for the iDrive series, he came out won both features of the night in the Light A Class.
Bobby Krug was the winner of both of our Light B Class features, however they were not easy wins for him. In the second feature of the night Krug battled it out for all 12 laps with another Kartplex regular Gage Rucker. It was a photo finish for the two of them but Krug had the speed to pull off a double win for the night.
Another newcomer to iDrive last night was Heavy Class competitor Justin Harper. Justin is a motorcycle racer who decided to try out iDrive from the suggestion of his friend, Evan Stamer. It seems he knows his way around karts as well, as he took home both wins in the Heavy Class.
It’s always a fun and competitive night at iDrive, and you never know what may happen, or who might join! With two races left in the season on October 4 and 18, there is still time to register and try your hand at the Kartplex.
