Job Title:  Assistant General Manager

Reports to:  General Manager

Full/Part Time:  Full Time, year round

Typical hours:  Schedule will vary seasonally

Compensation:  Salaried, commensurate with experience


General overview:

As we enter our third year of operations, Gateway Kartplex is looking for a dynamic, motivated and experienced team member to fill the position of Assistant General Manager.  The AGM will report to the general manager and will be focused on both rental and race kart maintenance while also being involved in day to day operational matters.  If you enjoy working in a fast paced environment and have a passion for motorsports this position may be for you!



  • Oversee and perform regular and as-needed maintenance on our fleet of rental karts
  • Perform routine maintenance on privately owned customer karts
  • Perform as-needed facility maintenance
  • Perform routine performance and facility checks
  • Document repairs
  • Maintain spare parts inventory
  • Ensure that all work and public areas are clean, well-organized and safe
  • Assists track and retail team members as needed
  • Assist racers with technical issues
  • Perform opening and closing duties
  • Manage retail & trackside staff
  • Coordinate scheduling with GM
  • other tasks as requested by the General Manager


Desired Abilities

  • extensive knowledge of both 2-cycle & 4-cycle engines
  • karting experience, both in a rental and racing environment
  • strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment


Job Requirements

  • High School graduate or hold a GED
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Drug test and background check are required prior to employment
  • Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States
  • Must have your own transportation
  • Must be able to work weekends and evenings
