09 Nov 2017 iDrive Shootout Champions
The iDrive Championship Shootout took place this past Saturday, November 4 in conjunction with our final two Ignite series races of the year.
All drivers who qualified for the shootout from the iDrive Spring and Fall sessions were there battling it out for the coveted championship title. Along with that title came, not only bragging rights, but also a Margay Racing sponsored ride in an Ignite kart for the entire 2018 season at Gateway Kartplex.
It was a long day for the racers, and many battled it out, but only two came out victorious.
In the iDrive Light class, winner Bobby Krug took an early lead, winning the first two races of the day. In the third race Krug had some competition from his own teammate Brenden Lauer. The two battled for first and second throughout the race, and while Lauer won the race, Krug had accumulated enough points early in the day to take home the championship win.
In the iDrive Heavy class, winner Eric Loddeke also started the day out strong with a top qualifying spot. While he fell back in the first race of the day, ultimately finishing fourth, Loddeke pulled off a win in both the second and third races, giving him enough points to earn the championship title.
Congratulations to our iDrive Light Champion Bobby Krug and our iDrive Heavy Champion Eric Loddeke! We look forward to seeing you both out next year in your Margay Racing Ignite Karts!
