14 Jul Battle at the Brickyard Race Recap & 1st Ever Backwards Event
Last week was the inaugural Battle at the Brickyard Go Kart race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Kartplex is proud of all of our competitors that raced there. In the Ignite class which was born and bred as a joint effort between Margay Racing and the Kartplex in 2014 had the largest field with 46 participants. 8 of the top 10 finishers in the Ignite Class are Kartplex regulars. The Kartplex was also represented well with several podium finishes in many other classes. We are happy to be a part of the development of many new racers in the area. If you are ready to get in the seat, visit the Kartplex today or call 618 219-8515.
This week the Kartplex ran the very first ever Backwards event. Our IDrive league is the beginning of the kart racing ladder and runs on Wednesday nights Spring and Fall. IDrive racers finished off the Spring Series in the clockwise direction. “A whole new race track” was quoted by series Champion Bobby Krug. Kartplex GM Keith Scharf was quoted as saying “We believe the clockwise round was very well received and will now be included as a round in all future IDrive series.” Anyone can join. If your ready for some racing action the Fall IDrive league starts on August 2.
