Ignite Race 5 the Kartplex’s first ever SuperTrack event. It was a battle between two different track surfaces as drivers had to set up their karts for the long straightaways and tight corners. Drivers faced an extremely bumpy transition onto the road course which allowed the most daring the fastest line through.

Kid Kart Honda saw another strong field of 5 karts entering. Chase Ermeling was able to take a commanding lead and win the 10 lap feature by 39 seconds, lapping the whole field except for one kart. Austin Todtenhaupt and Connor Strohm rounded off the podium.

In Ignite Masters it was a hard battle between Jim Rucker and Blaine Finnegan in the opening stages. Jim Rucker spun his kart on the backstretch trying to make an inside move under Blaine. A late race full course yellow bunched up the field which allowed for Rucker to make another move. Rucker was able to take the lead and checker, winning his 3rd masters feature of 2016.

In Ignite Senior, Texas native Jeff Dolian came in from Texas and put it to the top of the chart in the practices. Colten Dudici was able to edge him out in qualifying and set the fast time. In the second lap of the feature Dudici and Dolian got into an incident which gave Dillon Emerson and Sean Kennedy the top spots. A lap later Emerson and Kennedy both put it off track at the end of the backstretch which gave Dolian the top spot. Dolian was able to hold on and take the feature heading into his Rock Island return!

Stamer and Todtenhaupt had another great battle in Ignite Junior heading into the last lap. Hailey Todtenhaupt put a nose in with two corners to go and couldn’t make it stick. She spun and Davis Worley and Gage Rucker were able to take advantage and complete the podium.

In Ignite Rookie, Reid Sweeny pulled away from the field and took the win by 56 seconds! Cameron Myers and Jaiden Beckman finished second and third respectively.
